British motorcycle brand Triumph has officially confirmed the launch of its all-new Triumph Thruxton 400 in India, scheduled for August 6, 2025. The upcoming model, spotted recently during a commercial shoot, will join the brand’s growing lineup of 400cc motorcycles, which currently includes the Speed 400, Scrambler 400, Speed T4, and Scrambler 400 XC.
Retro-Inspired Styling Sets It Apart Triumph Thruxton 400
Unlike its siblings, the Thruxton 400 embraces a distinct café racer design. The motorcycle features a half fairing, reminiscent of Triumph’s larger Thruxton models. This retro design is further accentuated by bar-end mirrors, clip-on handlebars, and a painted rear cowl that replaces the usual pillion seat.
While a dual-seat option could be offered as standard or an add-on, the unit used in the recent shoot sported a stylish red and silver dual-tone finish. Key components such as the fuel tank and side panels are expected to be borrowed from the Speed 400, giving it familiar proportions with a unique attitude.
Proven Engine, Minor Tweaks Expected
Powering the Thruxton 400 is the same 399cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine used in the Speed and Scrambler 400 models. It continues to deliver 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of peak torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper and assist clutch as standard.
Although the core engine remains unchanged, Triumph may tweak the gear ratios slightly to complement the café racer personality and deliver a sportier riding experience.
Features and Pricing Triumph Thruxton 400
The Triumph Thruxton 400 is expected to carry a features list similar to the rest of Triumph’s 400cc range, focusing on performance and rider engagement.
In terms of pricing, industry estimates suggest an ex-showroom price of around ₹2.80 lakh, positioning it just above the Speed 400 and below the Scrambler 400 models. Its retro design, combined with a tried-and-tested engine and chassis, could make the Thruxton 400 an attractive option for enthusiasts seeking style and performance in a mid-size package.
