Mahindra is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle portfolio significantly, with plans to Mahindra to launch 6 New Electric Vehicles (EVs) built on a brand-new platform. The development was confirmed by Group CEO and Managing Director, Anish Shah.
The move highlights Mahindra’s commitment to the electric mobility shift, especially in the competitive SUV space, where it has witnessed strong growth.
SUV Sales Drive Growth
Mahindra continues to dominate the SUV segment, achieving a revenue market share of 27.3%, up by 570 basis points compared to the same period last year. Total SUV sales volumes also grew by 22% in the first quarter of the ongoing financial year, reinforcing its strong market presence.
Leading the Light Commercial Vehicle Segment
In the sub-3.5-tonne Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category, Mahindra retained its leadership with a market share of 54.2%, marking a 340 basis point increase year-on-year.
Tractor Division Remains Strong
The company’s tractor business continues to be a key contributor to its financial performance, commanding a 45.2% market share. Shah noted that the division is shifting its focus from aggressive market share competition to operational efficiency and timely deliveries.
Financial Performance: Q1 FY26 Highlights
For the April–June quarter of FY26, Mahindra posted a consolidated profit after tax of ₹4,083 crore, reflecting a 24% year-on-year growth. The auto and farm sectors each recorded a 20% increase in profits, while its financial services segment saw a 15% rise in assets under management.
Shah added that the group companies continued to deliver stable results and that there are no current plans to separate the agriculture and automotive businesses.
Global Outlook and Upcoming Concepts
Commenting on international trade, Shah expressed optimism about tariff developments between India and the United States, noting the robust trade relationship between the two countries.
Looking ahead, Mahindra plans to unveil several concept vehicles on August 15, 2025, during the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai. The showcase will include four new concepts—Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT—offering a preview of upcoming models.
A new EV platform will also be officially revealed during the same event, underscoring Mahindra’s long-term electric mobility strategy.
