Apple is reportedly gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup on 9 September 2025, with leaks suggesting that this year’s lineup will include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. If past patterns hold, pre-orders are expected to go live on 12 September, followed by deliveries starting 19 September.
According to a report from German publication iPhone-ticker.de, citing insider information from mobile carriers, the launch date aligns closely with Apple’s traditional September release window. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also previously pointed to a possible launch during the 8–12 September timeframe.
Design and Display Upgrades
This year’s iPhone 17 series is set to bring modest but meaningful hardware improvements. Display sizes will range across models:
- iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3-inch display
- iPhone 17 Air: 6.5-inch display
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9-inch display
While the iPhone 17, 17 Air, and 17 Pro are expected to feature aluminium frames, the Pro Max variant will likely continue with the titanium design introduced last year.
Performance and Processor
The standard models—iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air—are expected to be powered by the new A19 chip, while the Pro models will reportedly get the enhanced A19 Pro chipset for faster performance and better energy efficiency.
Leaked images from prominent tipster Majin Bu on X (formerly Twitter) also reveal the alleged rear panel design of the iPhone 17 Pro series, shown encased in transparent covers. Though Apple has yet to confirm any details, the designs suggest minor aesthetic refinements.
Pricing Expectations
Though official pricing is not confirmed, a modest hike is anticipated. Most models could see a $50 increase over the iPhone 16 series, translating to an approximate ₹4,000 uptick in India—excluding the base iPhone 17, which may retain last year’s pricing.
Beyond iPhones: New AirPods Pro and Apple Watch
The September event is also expected to feature more than just smartphones. Apple is likely to unveil the third-generation AirPods Pro and updated Apple Watch models, further enriching its wearable and accessory ecosystem.
More details, including official pricing, specifications, and promotional offers, are expected in the coming weeks as the Apple event draws nearer.
